TOKYO, Oct 05 (themoscowtimes.com) –
Japan has ordered a senior Russian official stationed within the nation to go away in retaliation for the expulsion of a Japanese diplomat over alleged spying, the international ministry stated Tuesday.

The tit-for-tat transfer got here after Tokyo demanded an apology final week from Moscow for detaining a diplomat primarily based within the japanese metropolis of Vladivostok, accusing Russia of blindfolding and pinning the person down in “unbelievable acts.”

On Tuesday, the international ministry stated in an announcement that it will expel a Russian consul within the northern metropolis of Sapporo “as a corresponding measure to Russia’s actions.”

“The Japanese government declared one consul from the Russian consulate general’s office in Sapporo persona non grata, and demanded that the person leave Japan in six days, which is to say by Oct. 10,” it stated in an announcement.
