British POW descendants return to honor Lisbon Maru rescue

The Lisbon Maru carrying 1,816 British POWs went down in 1942. But 384 survived, plucked from the ocean by Chinese fishermen who braved Japanese troopers’ machine-gun hearth. Decades later, their households got here again to Dongji Island to be sure that the story would by no means be forgotten.
