SAI facilitates Japan publicity for Indian judokas forward of Asian Games and World Championships

New Delhi [India], September 17 (ANI): The Sports Authority of India (SAI) facilitated an abroad coaching stint for India’s senior judo group at Tsukuba University in Japan as a part of preparations for the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya and the World Judo Championships in Baku. 

A 14-member Indian delegation is participating in an International Training (Pre-Games) programme at Tsukuba University until October 2. The delegation contains 11 judokas – one male and 10 feminine athletes – together with three coaches, in response to the discharge.

Out of the 11 judokas, three – Asmita Dey (Women’s -48kg), Yamini Mourya (Women’s -57kg) and Takhellambam Inunganbi (Women’s -70kg) are a part of the Asian Games group. 

While Asmita will compete on September 30, Yamini and Inunganbi are scheduled to take the mat on October 1 on the Aichi International Arena (IG Arena), Nagoya.

The abroad publicity camp comes at an important section of the worldwide calendar, with the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya adopted instantly by the World Judo Championships in Baku from October 4 to 11. A complete of 10 Judo gamers – one male and 9 feminine – are participating within the Baku event.
