OSAKA (TR) – Police in Osaka City have arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of tried robbery-murder after he allegedly hijacked a supply van and dragged its driver via the streets, leaving him with extreme head accidents, stories ABC News (July 16).
Toki Harada, an unemployed man of no fastened handle, is accused of stealing a light-weight supply van parked alongside a highway in Tsurumi Ward on June 24.
When the 52-year-old supply driver observed the theft, he desperately clung to the passenger-side window in an try to cease the car. Harada allegedly accelerated and drove off, dragging the person for about 165 meters.
The driver finally fell to the highway, sustaining main accidents together with a traumatic subarachnoid hemorrhage.
During police questioning, Harada has remained silent relating to the allegations.
The day after the violent carjacking, police positioned the stolen van contained in the underground parking storage of a giant business complicated in Kita Ward. When officers approached the car for questioning, Harada tried to make a getaway, crashing the van right into a parking gate and destroying the barrier.
He was arrested on the spot for property injury. On July 16, police served a recent arrest warrant elevating the cost to tried robbery-murder.
