Fresh arrest warrants issued for two Vietnamese for stealing peaches in Yamanashi

YAMANASHI, Nov 10 (NHK) –
Police in Japan have served recent arrest warrants for 2 Vietnamese males on suspicion of stealing a big amount of peaches from farms in Yamanashi Prefecture, west of Tokyo.

The 40- and 25-year-old Vietnamese males are accused of stealing about 600 peaches prepared for harvest in mid-July.

They have been already arrested in August and charged with theft of enormous quantities of pears in Ibaraki and Saitama prefectures, additionally close to Tokyo.

Investigators say they discovered messages left on seized smartphones that have been exchanged between the 2 males and different Vietnamese residents in Japan over sale and buy of the peaches.

The investigators additionally discovered bundle slips and cardboard containers of their residence. They are suspected of promoting the fruits on social media and by different means.
