TOKYO（TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a former worker of the Nissan Group Labor Union who’s suspected of embezzling about 100 million yen from the corporate, reviews Fuji News Network (Mar. 11).
In 2019, Yumi Karatsu, a 61-year-old former accountant on the union, allegedly embezzled 2.68 million yen of funds from a political group throughout the union to her personal account.
Upon her arrest on suspicion of embezzlement on March 7, Karatsu confessed to the crime, in keeping with the Atago Police Station.
She stated that she used the funds to purchase a car for herself. She added, “I used it to fund the operation of a store run by my partner.”
Karatsu is believed to have embezzled round 140 million yen over a seven-year interval. Police are at the moment investigating whether or not she might have dedicated different crimes.
