China's shuttlers safe two closing berths at Japan Open

TOKYO, July 29 (Xinhua) — China’s shuttlers progressed to the ladies’s singles and doubles finals on the Japan Open right here on Saturday.

In the ladies’s singles, He Bingjiao displayed distinctive resilience as she overcame Gregoria Mariska Tunjung of Indonesia 13-21, 21-19, 21-9.

She will contend for the championship on Sunday in opposition to South Korea’s ace An Se-young, who swept Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei in straight units.

In the ladies’s doubles, Chen Qingchen/Jia Yifan beat Japan’s Fukushima Yuki/Hirota Sayaka 21-19, 21-18, and can face South Korea’s Kim So-yeong/Kong Hee-yong within the closing.

In the boys’s doubles, Liu Yuchen and Ou Xuanyi misplaced 21-10, 21-15 to Japan’s Takuro Hoki and Yugo Kobayashi.

In the blended doubles, Zheng Siwei/Huang Yaqiong and Feng Yanzhe/Huang Dongping had been eradicated by Thai duo Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai and Japan’s Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino, respectively.

The males’s singles closing will see Denmark’s Anders Antonsen in opposition to Indonesia’s Jonathan Christie.

The Japan Open, which kicked off on Tuesday, will conclude on Sunday at Tokyo’s Yoyogi National Stadium.
