Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) introduced a proper plan on March 28 to determine precedence lanes for autonomous autos alongside expressways stretching from Tohoku to Kyushu inside the subsequent ten years.
The plan consists of establishing over 100 precedence lanes for autonomous driving on public roads nationwide. Additionally, it encompasses the event of rules to allow drone logistics over the airspace of all main rivers throughout the nation. Representatives from eight governmental businesses and corporations, together with Toyota, participated within the assembly. The initiative goals to foster the widespread adoption of autonomous driving and drone logistics by way of public-private collaboration, addressing challenges resembling labor shortages.
