AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police on Friday arrested a girl a 69-year-old lady within the homicide of housewife Namiko Takaba in Nagoya in 1999, reviews CBC TV (Oct. 31).
The arrest of Kumiko Yasufuku on suspicion of homicide on Friday was welcomed by Takaba’s husband, who fought to maintain the unsolved case within the highlight for almost three many years.
On November 13, 1999, Namiko Takaba, 32, was fatally stabbed at her residence in Nishi Ward. An examination of her physique confirmed wounds to the arms and neck. Her two-year-old son was unhurt within the incident.
Takaba’s husband, Satoru, continued to hire the residence the place the homicide occurred in an effort to maintain the case alive.
Yasufuku is a part-time employee from Minato Ward, Nagoya. She turned herself in alone on Friday. Her arrest adopted an evaluation of her DNA, which proved to be a match for bloodstains left on the scene.
When questioned by police, Yasufuku has admitted to the costs. “That’s correct,” she stated.
Investigative sources stated Yasufuku was a highschool classmate of Takaba. However, he has no recollection of her.
In an interview with CBC TV, Satoru commented relating to the arrest, “I’m just so relieved.”
