(250803) — CHANGCHUN, Aug. 3, 2025 (Xinhua) — Tourists go to the Changchun History and Culture Museum on Xinmin Avenue in Changchun, northeast China’s Jilin Province, July, 31, 2025. Changchun’s Xinmin Avenue is a historic main highway first inbuilt 1933. After a current renovation, it reopened to the general public on July 5.
Stretching 1,445 meters, the avenue underwent vital upgrades, creating an extra 4.5 hectares of city house and 13 distinctive mini parks.
The avenue is flanked by buildings that after housed the State Council, ministries and a courtroom of Manchukuo, the puppet state in northeast China after the area was taken by the Japanese military.
The Changchun History and Culture Museum, opening concurrently, is positioned within the center part of the avenue. The museum was transformed from the previous website of the workplace of the Changchun Daily. (Xinhua/Zhang Nan)
