A manufacturing facility that converts discarded tempura oil into jet gasoline utilizing a world-first technique has formally begun full-scale operations in Tahara City, Aichi Prefecture.
The facility, situated within the Midorigaoka district of Tahara, was constructed by Kyoto-based Revo International and produces roughly 600 liters per day of aviation gasoline often called SAF.
SAF, brief for Sustainable Aviation Fuel, is derived from used cooking oil and has gained world consideration for its potential to considerably scale back carbon dioxide emissions in comparison with standard fossil fuels.
