Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 29 (ANI): People gathered in massive numbers to take a holy dip in Lolark Kund on Friday in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi, on the event of the sixth day of the Hindu month of Bhadrapad.
According to the police, 4 to 5 lakh devotees have taken the holy dip within the Lolark Kund.
‘Arrangements for ingesting water and bogs have additionally been made. It is estimated that 4-5 lakh individuals have taken the dip within the Kund at this time,’ Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Crime, Varanasi, Saravanan Thangamani, mentioned.
More than a thousand police personnel, together with the groups of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Jal Police, have been deployed for the security and safety of the devotees.
DCP Saravanan Thangamani informed ANI, ‘People have come from numerous districts and states to take a holy dip on the event of the Lolark Chhath. To make sure the safety of the devotees, greater than a thousand cops have been deployed in two shifts, together with an organization of the PAC. To guarantee the security contained in the Kund, NDRF and Jal Police have been deployed.’
