Tokyo trio suspected in Pokemon card swindle – TokyoReporter

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested three males for allegedly defrauding a fourth man within the sale of three Pokemon playing cards, reviews Jiji Press (Mar. 13).

In June 2024, Toru Morino, 38, Jun Takemura, 54, and Eiji Koda, 52, are suspected of working collectively to defraud the male sufferer, aged in his 30s, out of three limited-edition Pokémon playing cards at a lodge in Chiyoda Ward.

At the time, the suspects had claimed that they have been shopping for the playing cards for 51 million yen. However, they confirmed him 1 million yen in 10,000-yen notes and handed over a big stack of paper disguised as forex.

Upon his arrest, Morino remained silent. Takemura and Koda have denied the costs, police stated.

According to police, the sufferer was launched to Koda by means of an acquaintance. On the day of the incident, the acquaintance was current for the signing of gross sales contract. The transaction was accomplished with Morino.

The man was given the cash in a paper bag, however after Morino left the lodge, he realized the bundle of payments was counterfeit.
