Tokyo shares rise for third straight day

TOKYO, Aug. 8 (Xinhua) — Tokyo shares closed barely greater Tuesday, extending their successful streak to a few days, whereas buying and selling was typically lackluster amid a dearth of recent market-moving news.

Japan’s benchmark Nikkei stock index, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average, gained 122.73 factors, or 0.38 %, to complete at 32,377.29.

The broader Topix index, in the meantime, completed 7.80 factors, or 0.34 %, greater at 2,291.73.

Despite the current upward pattern, the Tokyo market is prone to see a restricted upside as markets have entered a summer season stoop except market gamers discover recent incentives, sellers mentioned.

On the top-tier Prime Market, gainers have been led by electrical energy and gasoline, marine transportation and meals points.

Among exporters, Honda Motor added 53 yen, or 1.2 %, to 4,453 yen, whereas Mazda Motor gained 11.5 yen, or 0.8 %, to 1,425 yen.
