The Taiji Town Whale Museum in Wakayama Prefecture carried out a memorial service on Tuesday for marine mammals and fish which have died in captivity.
The ceremony came about in entrance of the memorial monument throughout the museum grounds, the place native monks chanted sutras whereas the caretakers provided incense. As of April 1st, the museum homes 9 species of cetaceans, along with displaying dioramas that replicate the normal whaling strategies of Taiji Town and reveals on whale ecology.
