KYOTO, Jun 17 (News On Japan) –
The Supreme Court has finalized the sentence of 18 years in jail for Yoshikazu Okubo, who conspired with a former physician to hold out an assisted loss of life in Kyoto in 2019 on the request of a feminine affected person affected by amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
During earlier trials, Okubo argued that he acted to satisfy the lady’s want, whereas the protection maintained that punishing him below the cost of homicide by request violated the Constitution and sought acquittal. However, the Kyoto District Court handed down an 18-year jail sentence, which was subsequently upheld by the Osaka High Court. Okubo appealed, however the Supreme Court has now rejected the enchantment, making the 18-year sentence last.
