President Xi Jinping of China and President Emmanuel Macron of France met in Beijing on the sixth to alternate views on the scenario in Ukraine and agreed to oppose using nuclear weapons. Afterwards, President Xi also held talks with EU Chairman von der Leyen.
At the press conference after the meeting, Chairman von der Leyen said that he had raised the issue of Taiwan in the meeting with the Chinese side, saying, “Stability within the Taiwan Strait is extraordinarily necessary, and we are going to unilaterally change the present scenario on this area by pressure. You should not,” he said.
