In a lawsuit by which residents of Fukushima Prefecture sought compensation from the federal government on the grounds that the security-related legislation that enabled the train of the correct to collective self-defense violated Article 9 of the Constitution and infringed on the correct to reside peacefully, the second court docket dominated. The Sendai High Court, in its first constitutional judgment in a collection of trials, dismissed the lawsuit, stating that it “cannot be said to clearly violate Article 9 of the Constitution.”
