S.C. officer killed in head-on collision allegedly attributable to fleeing 15-year-old

GREENWOOD, S.C. — A Greenwood Police officer died after a crash allegedly attributable to a 15-year-old driver making an attempt to flee regulation enforcement, WYFF reported.

Greenwood Police Chief T.J. Chaudoin acknowledged that on May 11, officers tried to cease the motive force of a car that had been concerned in prior capturing incidents. The driver then fled the cease, evading officers at excessive pace.

The driver crossed the centerline and commenced to drive the unsuitable approach. He struck Officer D.J. Keller’s cruiser head-on.

Keller, 31, died on the scene. His Okay-9 companion, Vice, was within the cruiser on the time however was not severely injured.
