TOKYO, twenty sixth November, 2024 (WAM) — An engine being developed to be used within the Epsilon S small rocket went up in flames Tuesday throughout a combustion check at a facility in southwestern Japan, the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) mentioned.
According to Kyodo News, the fireplace on the Tanegashima Space Centre in Kagoshima Prefecture follows one other incident in July 2023 when the identical engine exploded throughout a check on the Noshiro Testing Centre in northeastern Japan.
No accidents had been reported, and JAXA is investigating the reason for the incident.
