Mitsubishi Motors Corporation and Highlanders, Inc., a startup from the University of Tokyo, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on growing humanoid robots for manufacturing. This partnership goals to deal with labor shortages and improve manufacturing flexibility in Japan.
Under the settlement, Mitsubishi Motors will discover the usage of humanoid robots at its manufacturing amenities, beginning with its Kyoto Plant. The firm plans to assemble operational knowledge and experience in humanoid robotics, whereas Highlanders will profit from Mitsubishi’s mass-production engineering and high quality assurance capabilities.
