A Chinese mainland spokesperson on Wednesday expressed profound sorrow on the passing of Koo Yen Cho-yun, spouse of Koo Chen-fu, the late former chairman of the Taiwan-based Straits Exchange Foundation, and prolonged heartfelt condolences to her household.
The mainland-based Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS) has despatched a condolence message to Koo’s household, mentioned Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the State Council Taiwan Affairs Office, responding to a media question.
Koo devoted herself to selling Chinese tradition, engaged in cross-Straits alternate and cooperation in varied fields, and accompanied her husband to conferences with Wang Daohan, then head of ARATS, making optimistic contributions to the development and growth of cross-Straits relations, Zhu mentioned.
Koo upheld the 1992 Consensus and actively promoted cross-Straits alternate, Zhu mentioned.
