Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLIT) has introduced plans to determine an emergency council to handle the continued aviation gas scarcity. This council, set to convene in mid-June, will embody representatives from the aviation and petroleum industries.

The scarcity, attributable to points akin to getting older refinery infrastructure and a surge in inbound journey demand, has led to a number of worldwide airways canceling new routes and growing flights to Japanese airports.

In response, MLIT and the Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry (METI) will collaborate with airways and oil corporations to debate rapid measures. The council may also handle the so-called “2024 problem,” which entails a scarcity of tankers and personnel wanted to move aviation gas from refineries to airports.

The authorities goals to implement swift options forward of the busy summer time journey season.
