Ishikawa Prefecture has surpassed Fukui Prefecture in complete land space after a major enhance brought on by coastal uplift triggered by the 2024 Noto Peninsula earthquake, in line with the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan.
The authority reported that Ishikawa’s land space expanded by 4.74 sq. kilometers, overtaking Fukui. The largest will increase had been recorded in Wajima City, the place the land grew by 2.78 sq. kilometers, and in Suzu City, which expanded by 1.72 sq. kilometers.
As a results of the adjustments, the nationwide rating of prefectural land space shifted, with Ishikawa now positioned thirty fourth and Fukui falling to thirty fifth.
