Shanghai [China], September 24 (ANI): India is working with international locations together with Germany, Japan and Israel to align vocational coaching requirements and make it simpler for expert Indian employees to entry jobs abroad, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) CEO Arun Kumar Pillai stated.
The effort is being pushed by NSDC International, which works with abroad companions to deliver world talent requirements into India’s coaching ecosystem and enhance the worldwide mobility of Indian employees.
“One of the reasons for doing that is to promote global mobility. So an Indian trained to say German standards can then opt to work, go to Germany and work. Of course, after learning German language, similarly trained to Japanese standards can go there,” Pillai instructed ANI on the sidelines of WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.
He stated NSDC is working intently with Germany, Japan, Israel and international locations within the Middle East, together with on talent verification.
“The whole drive is to improve the quality of standards in the country so that Indian worker can be a global worker,” Pillai stated.
The push comes as India seems to be to enhance the standard of vocational coaching at scale and join its skilling system extra intently with worldwide employment alternatives.
Pillai stated almost 3.6 lakh individuals registered for the WorldSkills choice course of throughout India within the present cycle, reflecting rising consciousness of vocational abilities competitions.
“First and foremost, 3.6 lakh people got registered for WorldSkills competitions across the country. That itself is a huge, huge leg up,” he stated.
Candidates went by state, regional and national-level competitions earlier than the ultimate contingent was chosen.
India is fielding its largest-ever contingent at WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, with 70 rivals collaborating throughout 63 talent classes, based on the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
