China will sharply increase visa charges for Japanese nationals getting into the nation from September 14, with the price of a single-entry visa growing to 16,750 yen, about 7.4 occasions the present stage.
The Chinese authorities introduced the rise on September 11, saying the measure was being taken “based on the principle of reciprocity.”
The transfer is seen as a response to the Japanese authorities’s choice in July to lift visa charges for international nationals visiting Japan by roughly fivefold.
The new Chinese price applies to single-entry visas issued to Japanese nationals and represents a considerable improve in the price of touring to China.
