American Arrested Over Suspected Arson at Okinawa Hotel

Okinawa police have arrested a 32-year-old U.S. citizen on suspicion of setting fireplace to a lodging facility in Chatan and trying to kill 18 company who have been staying inside, following a blaze that left one man severely injured on August 15.

Police recognized the suspect as Poseidion Alexander Roberson, a self-described firm worker who was visiting Okinawa as a vacationer. He was arrested on suspicion of arson of an occupied constructing and tried homicide.

Investigators allege that Roberson set fireplace to the lodging facility the place he was staying at round 3:30 a.m. on August 15 regardless of realizing that different company have been inside, inflicting important injury to the constructing.

A person in his 50s from Osaka Prefecture suffered accidents together with burns to his airway and carbon monoxide poisoning. He quickly misplaced consciousness and stays hospitalized with critical accidents, though he has since regained consciousness.

Police stated they’d not disclose whether or not Roberson has admitted or denied the allegations as a result of doing so may intrude with the investigation.

Roberson had beforehand been arrested on the scene within the early hours of August 21 on suspicion of unlawfully getting into a multipurpose facility in Toyama, Urasoe, with no respectable purpose.
