Indian Embassy in Japan honours Yoshimizu Kiyotaka for contributions to Indian philosophy, tradition

Tokyo [Japan], October 10 (ANI): The Embassy of India in Japan offered the thirty sixth Nakamura Gen Eastern Academic Award to Yoshimizu Kiyotaka of the Toyo Bunko Research Department, recognising his in depth analysis and important contributions over a few years to the research of Indian philosophy and Indian tradition in Japan.

The award was offered by India’s Ambassador to Japan, Malik, at a ceremony held by the Indian Embassy on Friday, which recognises excellent researchers for his or her contributions to Indian philosophy, Buddhism and Oriental research.

The recognition of Yoshimizu highlights his longstanding analysis actions and contributions to the research of Indian philosophy and Indian tradition in Japan, the Indian Embassy stated.

In a publish on X, the Embassy of India in Japan stated, ‘The Embassy of India in Japan held the award ceremony for the thirty sixth Nakamura Gen Eastern Academic Award in the present day, and we’re honoured to have welcomed everybody to the venue. This award recognises excellent researchers who’ve made outstanding contributions to the event of Indian philosophy, Buddhism, and Oriental research.’

‘The prestigious award was offered by Ambassador Malik to Dr. Yoshimizu Kiyotaka of the Toyo Bunko Research Department. Dr. Yoshimizu has been evaluated for his in depth analysis actions and important contributions over a few years to the research of Indian philosophy and Indian tradition in Japan, resulting in this recognition,’ it added.

The award is given to younger researchers below the age of 45 and recognises educational contributions to the research and improvement of Indian philosophical and cultural traditions, together with Buddhism and Oriental research.

India and Japan share a ‘Special Strategic and Global Partnership’, with friendship between the 2 nations rooted in non secular affinity and powerful cultural and civilizational ties. 

Historical connections embody the consecration of the statue of Lord Buddha at Todaiji Temple in Nara by Indian monk Bodhisena in 752 AD.
