Kirishima has been reinstated to the rank of ozeki, declaring his ambition to achieve even higher heights, because the Japan Sumo Association unanimously accepted his promotion throughout a rankings assembly and extraordinary board session held on March twenty fifth at Edion Arena Osaka in Naniwa Ward, Osaka, forward of the Summer Grand Sumo Tournament, which opens on May tenth at Ryogoku Kokugikan.
The 29-year-old wrestler, whose actual identify is Byambachuluun Khagvasuren and who hails from Mongolia, belongs to the Otowayama steady and had been competing on the rank of sekiwake within the east division.
His return to ozeki marks a comeback after 12 tournaments.
