TOKYO (TR) – Over the primary three days of the New Year, one aged individual died and 5 others have been hospitalized after choking on sticky mochi rice truffles, studies Fuji News Network (Jan. 4).
According to the Tokyo Fire Department, between New Year’s Day and January 3, six women and men, aged 80 to 96, have been taken to hospitals by ambulance after choking on mochi.
Of these, a lady aged in her 80s and dwelling in Minato Ward died, and 5 women and men of their 80s and 90s are in critical situation.
The girl in her 80s who died choked whereas consuming daifuku (a kind of mochi).
The division urges individuals to drink fluids earlier than consuming mochi and to chop it into small items.
