A Tokyo courtroom has sentenced Manabu Wakui to fifteen years in jail for the deadly stabbing of a lady on the grounds of a high-rise condominium in Shinjuku Ward in May 2024. The Tokyo District Court dominated that Wakui carried out the assault to fulfill a private grudge with out first exhausting authorized channels, stating that his actions couldn’t be justified as revenge.
During the trial, the protection argued that the sufferer had led Wakui to consider they’d marry if he devoted his life to her, and that he incurred important debt after putting costly orders at a hostess membership she ran. The protection had sought an 11-year sentence, however the courtroom rejected this, concluding that the motive didn’t warrant leniency.
