The French president’s spouse, Brigitte Macron, is making her Netflix debut enjoying herself within the hit sequence “Emily in Paris”, Elle journal revealed, forward of the discharge of recent episodes Thursday.
France’s First Lady will put on her personal clothes, “with no particular instructions given to her” by the sequence identified for its style, the journal stated, which Netflix confirmed with AFP.
The second half of the fourth season is being launched Thursday on the streaming platform.
“The idea of the cameo came to us when (program creator) Darren Star and I met her at the Elysee Palace in December 2022,” the present’s star Lily Collins informed Elle.
“She is a big fan of the show and took the mention of her in season 1 with great humour. This scene in season 4 is a wink, and shooting with her was both an honour and a real joy.”
Regarding his take of Macron, Star informed Elle, “She has great talent!”
Since launching in 2020, the sequence has attracted audiences and made headlines. It has been liked and hated, and for some, who like to hate it.
“Emily in Paris” has been criticised in France particularly for its stereotypical, fantastical portrayal of life within the City of Light, from beret-wearing bon vivant way of life to sanitised, Instagramable scenes of the capital.
