Wooden Temple in Fukushima Burns Down After Fire Ritual

FUKUSHIMA, Jan 02 (News On Japan) –
A fireplace broke out at a temple in Fukushima City, utterly destroying its wood single-story principal corridor. The incident occurred on January 1st, with authorities receiving a report round 7:20 p.m. about sounds of burning coming from the temple.

The hearth was extinguished roughly 4 hours later. At the time, the temple’s chief priest and their household have been in a close-by residence on the premises, and nobody was inside the principle corridor. No accidents have been reported.

Witnesses described the scene as stunning, with one close by resident noting that the sky turned crimson and sparks flew excessive into the air.

The principal corridor had been used for fire-related prayer rituals earlier within the night. Police are investigating whether or not these actions have been linked to the blaze.
