TOKYO, June 11 (Xinhua) — An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 6.2 struck elements of Japan’s northern prefecture of Hokkaido, the climate company stated on Sunday.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the temblor occurred at 6:55 p.m. native time at a depth of 140 km, measuring decrease 5 on Japan’s seismic depth scale which peaks at 7.
The temblor’s epicenter was situated off Urakawa at a latitude of 42.5 levels north and a longitude of 142.0 levels east.
No tsunami warning has been issued.
