Update: Japan should retract its Taiwan-related remarks, or to bear all penalties: Chinese overseas ministry

BEIJING, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — Japan should instantly right and retract its provocative remarks associated to Taiwan, in any other case, all the implications shall be borne by Japan, Chinese overseas ministry spokesperson Lin Jian mentioned on Thursday.

Lin made the remarks at an everyday press briefing when answering a query about remarks relating to China’s Taiwan just lately made by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, hinting at the opportunity of navy intervention within the Taiwan Strait.

“China firmly opposes this and will never tolerate this,” Lin mentioned. “Should Japan dare to resort to force and intervene in the Taiwan Strait, that would constitute an act of aggression. China will meet it with resolute counteractions.”

“We sternly warn Japan that it must reflect deeply on its historical crimes of aggression, immediately cease interference in China’s internal affairs, and halt its provocative and transgressive words and deeds. Do not play with fire on the Taiwan question, for those who play with fire will ultimately get burned,” the spokesperson mentioned.
