Two SDF Personnel Dismissed for Cannabis Use

TOKYO, Feb 04 (News On Japan) –
Two Japan Ground Self-Defense Force members stationed on the Yao Garrison had been dismissed from service after being discovered to have used hashish, with the case coming to mild after a colleague raised issues and reported the matter to a superior.

According to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force’s Yao Garrison, the 2 service members, each 21-year-old privates top quality assigned to the Central Air Defense Force Aviation Unit, used hashish on a number of events between round November 2023 and round April 2024, resulting in their disciplinary dismissal.

A colleague who suspected the 2 of utilizing hashish reported the matter to a superior, and an inside investigation later confirmed that each admitted to the drug use, prompting the unit to inform the police.

The commander of the Central Air Defense Force Aviation Unit stated, “I deeply regret that members of the Self-Defense Forces, who are expected to uphold discipline, have caused such an incident, and we will take all possible measures to prevent a recurrence.”
