Snow fell throughout the Kinki area from January 2nd to January third, notably in northern areas, with Kyoto’s Kinkakuji Temple donning its first snow cowl of the winter.

Under a winter stress sample, intermittent snowfall continued throughout northern elements of the Kinki area between January 2nd and January third, with Nantan City in Kyoto Prefecture recording snow accumulation of as much as 7 centimeters.
Snow additionally gathered inside Kyoto City, leaving Kinkakuji wrapped in white for the primary time this winter.
