The Japanese authorities has permitted a rise in letter postage charges, addressing the monetary challenges confronted by the postal service. Following an modification to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications ordinance, the speed will rise from 84 yen to 110 yen by this autumn.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno acknowledged, ‘The most price for normal mail objects weighing as much as 25 grams and correspondence weighing as much as 25 grams will likely be revised from 84 yen to 110 yen.’
Japan Post had requested the speed hike, citing a decline in mail quantity and rising transportation prices as causes for the postal service’s monetary deficit.
The price for postcards will enhance from 63 yen to 85 yen.
