A survey conducted by a private research firm indicates that the prices of more than 800 food and beverage items will go up in Japan in November.
Teikoku Databank surveyed 105 major food and beverage manufacturers in the country.
It says that the manufacturers had either increased, or were planning to increase, the prices of 20,743 products as of the end of October.
In November, 833 items are set to become more expensive.
The figure is smaller than the 6,699 items that were affected by October’s “price hike rush.” But, the research firm says households are feeling increasingly burdened by the growing cost of everyday items.
It notes that manufacturers are planning to raise the prices of more than 2,000 foods and beverages next year. That number is apparently expected to increase.
