In the large-scale acquisition case surrounding the House of Councilors election during which former Minister of Justice Katsuyuki Kawai was sentenced to jail, a prosecutor on the Tokyo District Public Prosecutors Office’s Special Investigation Department voluntarily interrogated a Hiroshima City Council member who allegedly acquired money from the previous minister. The Supreme Public Prosecutors Office will examine whether or not there have been any issues with the interrogation at the moment.
