Pope Francis interview with Scorsese featured in new documentary

A brand new documentary from Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese will characteristic a dialog with the late Pope Francis about an effort the pontiff championed to offer training via cinema, the movie’s producers mentioned.

Called “Aldeas – A New Story,” the documentary is “rooted in the pope’s belief in the sacred nature of creativity,” an announcement from the filmmakers mentioned.

They mentioned the beforehand unseen dialog with Scorsese was the pope’s “final in-depth on-camera interview for cinema.”

Francis died on April 21 at age 88 and was buried on Saturday.

The documentary will showcase the work of Scholas Occurrentes, an academic motion based by Pope Francis, and Aldeas, a undertaking that helps the making of quick movies to advertise cultural understanding.
