A standard “fukumame” bean-tossing occasion was held on February 1st at Tsutenkaku Tower in Osaka’s Naniwa Ward, forward of the Setsubun competition, drawing crowds keen to ask success somewhat early.
Marking its seventieth 12 months, the occasion noticed tv persona Yukino Saito and others scatter round 1,000 luggage of roasted soybeans, referred to as “fukumame,” from the tower.
One customer mentioned, “I stretched my arms out and grabbed them with energy. I want everything to go well this year.”
