The Osaka Prefectural Police introduced that that they had arrested a teen for possessing plant materials suspected of being marijuana beneath the Cannabis Control Law, however later launched him after no hashish elements had been detected within the plant materials.
On March 13, the Osaka Prefectural Police arrested a teen residing within the prefecture for allegedly possessing plant materials resembling marijuana in his backpack. During the police investigation, {the teenager} defined that the fabric was not marijuana. According to the police, officers on the scene performed a preliminary check on the plant materials, which confirmed a response just like that of marijuana, resulting in {the teenager}’s arrest. However, subsequent testing by the Scientific Research Institute didn’t detect any hashish elements, and {the teenager} was launched.
The Osaka Prefectural Police admitted to the wrongful arrest, stating, “We apologize to the individual who was arrested. We will strive to prevent such incidents from happening again.”
