North Korea Lashes Out at UN Command Over Seoul Meeting

North Korea on Monday known as for the United Nations Command to be dissolved calling it an ‘unlawful warfare group’ over a gathering which is scheduled to happen between the member states in South Korea later this week, state media KCNA reported.

The U.S.-led United Nations Command (UNC) is a multinational army power and oversees affairs within the closely fortified Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) between the 2 Koreas, which stay technically at warfare.

Seoul’s protection ministry stated final week that South Korean and U.S. protection chiefs together with the member states of the U.N. Command will meet Tuesday in Seoul to name on Pyongyang to cease what it stated was ‘unlawful actions’ and implement U.N. safety resolutions.

The KCNA report, citing the Institute for Disarmament and Peace (IDP) of the DPRK Foreign Ministry, additionally criticized a joint declaration which is about to be adopted for contingency within the Korean peninsula.

The DPRK stands for North Korea’s official title, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

North Korea’s criticism comes a day after U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin met his South Korean counterpart Shin Won-sik in Seoul on Sunday and with Japanese Defense Minister Minoru Kihara for a trilateral assembly.
