Monsoon-related loss of life toll stands at 241 throughout Himachal Pradesh

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], August 13 (ANI): Public infrastructure throughout Himachal Pradesh stays badly crippled as 323 roads, 70 electrical energy distribution transformers (DTRs), and 130 water provide schemes have been disrupted prior to now 24 hours as a consequence of heavy rains and associated incidents, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) mentioned on Wednesday night.

On the infrastructure entrance, two nationwide highways — NH-305 in Kullu and NH-505 in Lahaul-Spiti — stay blocked as a consequence of landslides and street cave-ins. Kullu has 70 roads closed, Mandi 179, and Kangra 25. Mandi additionally suffered the most important variety of energy outages, with 50 DTRs down, whereas Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti reported localised electrical energy faults.
