At the 96th Academy Awards held on the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood on Sunday night time, Director Hayao Miyazaki’s “The Boy and the Heron” gained the award for Best Animated Feature Film, his second Oscar following “Spirited Away” in 2003.
“The Boy and the Heron” is Miyazaki’s first characteristic movie in about ten years for the reason that launch of “The Wind Rises” in 2013.
The title is taken from a youngsters’s e-book by Genzaburo Yoshino, however the movie tells an unique story. It depicts the story of a boy named Junto who loses his mom to an air raid by American planes throughout wartime in Japan. As he searches for his father’s lacking new spouse, he’s led by a mysterious heron into an odd world.
The movie had already gained the Best Animated Feature Film award on the 81st Golden Globe Awards, thought of a precursor to the Academy Awards.
