Letters of fallen Japanese World War II troopers present in U.S.

Gifu – Several letters written by Japanese troopers who died on an island in Indonesia throughout World War II have been discovered within the United States.

The Japan-War Bereaved Families Association (JWBFA) obtained a request from a U.S. nonprofit group that has been working to return the letters from troopers addressed to their households in Gifu, Fukuoka and Nagasaki prefectures. Despite their finest efforts, the group has to this point been unable monitor down a number of the households.
