TOKYO, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) — A police officer shot a person wielding two knives in Osaka in western Japan on Monday after the person apparently slashed a girl throughout a dispute at an house constructing.
According to the police, the 58-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of violation of the swords and firearms management regulation, was acutely aware when he was taken to hospital after a bullet hit his proper flank.
Osaka Prefectural Police’s Suminoe police station obtained an emergency name at round 6 a.m. native time saying {that a} man and girl had been quarreling at an house constructing within the metropolis’s Suminoe Ward.
One of the three cops who rushed to the scene warned the person carrying two kitchen knives to drop the weapons and fired a shot into the air. But the person approached the officer saying “shoot me” and the officer fired one other shot, aiming for his leg, the police stated.
The girl in her 70s, a resident of the house constructing, instructed the police that she didn’t know the attacker, though he claims to stay there. She is believed to have been attacked abruptly by him after she completed taking out trash to the complicated’s rubbish bins, the police stated.
The girl sustained head accidents however was acutely aware, and police are investigating the small print of the incident.
“We determined that the police officer’s use of a handgun was within the proper execution of duties,” police station deputy chief Naoki Honda stated.
