Kenzaburo Oe, Japanese Nobel literature laureate, dies at 88

Japanese novelist Kenzaburo Oe, winner of the 1994 Nobel Prize in Literature who was also referred to as a campaigner for the pacifist Constitution and towards nuclear energy, has died of previous age, writer Kodansha stated Monday. He was 88.

One of essentially the most celebrated authors in Japan within the post-World War II period, Oe in his late 70s spearheaded a civic motion calling for the elimination of nuclear crops, within the wake of the 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear catastrophe triggered by a large earthquake and tsunami.
