U.S. rapper Kanye West has postponed his live performance within the French metropolis of Marseille, following reviews that the nation’s inside minister was looking for to dam the efficiency.
“After much thought and consideration, it is my sole decision to postpone my show in Marseille, France until further notice,” the rapper wrote on X.
France’s inside minister Laurent Nunez was looking for to dam West from performing within the southern metropolis in a live performance scheduled for June 11 resulting from his antisemitic remarks, AFP reported earlier on Tuesday.
West, 48, has been closely criticized for making antisemitic remarks and voicing admiration for Adolf Hitler.
Britain has blocked the U.S. rapper, often known as Ye, from getting into the nation resulting from his outbursts, prompting organizers of a pageant he was to headline to cancel the July occasion. Prime Minister Keir Starmer had known as reserving West “deeply concerning.”
But Dutch Asylum and Migration Minister Bart van den Brink stated final week there have been no plans as but to bar the rapper from the Netherlands.
West wrote in one other X publish on Tuesday that “I know it takes time to understand the sincerity of my commitment to make amends.”
